The Role
Ideas + Outcomes and Pull London are two agencies in the Common Thread Group of Independent Agencies.
We are built on one truth. When you know your customer, you change the game.
Our work sits in four sectors: health, beauty, retail and consumer goods. Superdrug, Schwarzkopf, Eakin Healthcare, PJH Bathrooms. Brands with real distribution, real category pressure and real regulatory constraint. Much of it is complex. All of it matters.
We are Drum Recommended and rated 9.3/10 by our clients. We are independent. There are no layers between the idea and the person who signs it off. You will present your own work.
You will develop ideas and art direct across both agency brands, reporting to the Associate Creative Director and working alongside senior designers, brand specialists, video producers, strategists and account managers. You'll take briefs across advertising, campaigns, brand, digital, print, packaging, retail and film, turning strategic thinking into creative work, from concept through to finished execution.
This is a hands-on creative role, with support around you when you need it. We're looking for someone hungry for ideas, curious about the problem behind the brief, and confident enough in their craft to bring those ideas to life.
You find the idea. You will turn briefs and strategic thinking into creative routes, campaign ideas and visual concepts. We want you to bring a thought, not just a response.
You make the idea real. Art direction, design, image-making, typography, film, whatever is useful. You don't need to be brilliant at everything. You do need enough craft to make a good idea believable.
You challenge the brief. Ask questions, spot opportunities, bring routes nobody asked for. You won't always be right. That's the point.
You work with the team. On bigger advertising, brand and video briefs you will take a defined part of the job alongside senior creatives and own it properly.
You care about the final detail. You will understand how work gets made and take responsibility for the quality of what leaves the agency. A keen eye for detail is not a nice-to-have here. Work that goes out wrong costs the client money and costs us trust.
The sectors
Health and pharma. Work that has to survive medical and regulatory review and still land emotionally. Patient, practitioner and carer audiences that behave nothing alike.
Beauty. Craft-led categories where the standard is high, competition is intense, and every detail matters in creating desire and distinction.
Retail and consumer goods. Work that has to perform at point of sale and in a two-second scroll, across a lot of SKUs, on a budget, at speed.
You do not need experience in all of these. You need to be genuinely interested in at least one and honest about which.
The details
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000, depending on experience. Permanent, full-time. Central London, hybrid, 3 days in the office, flexible hours 08:00-18:00. Optional 9-day fortnight, so every other Friday off if you want it. 25 days plus bank holidays, increasing with service. Penfold pension. Life insurance. Profit share. Employee of the Quarter and Year Awards.
How to apply
Hit Apply Now and send a short note on why you are a good fit and which of our four sectors interests you, a link to your portfolio, and your CV. Attachments under 10MB.
The note and the portfolio are what we read first. Applications that arrive with context are prioritised over a CV on its own.
We receive 400-500 applications per role and cannot respond to everyone. No visa sponsorship is available. Applicants must have the permanent right to work in the UK and be within commuting distance of Farringdon. Interviews will be in person and teams.
Key Responsibilities
Develop creative ideas and visual routes for campaigns, brand work and new business pitches, from initial thought and scamp to presentation-ready work.
Contribute to campaign platforms, art direction, visual storytelling and creative treatments.
Work alongside senior creatives, designers and video producers on briefs across film, digital, print, packaging and retail, owning defined elements of larger jobs.
Support on brand identity work: logo systems, typographic hierarchies, colour, layout, guideline documents.
Present and explain your ideas internally, and increasingly to clients.
Use design, typography, image-making, motion and AI tools to visualise and develop your thinking.
Take feedback positively and use it to make the idea stronger.
Understand the practicalities of production, and QA your work before it leaves you: proof the copy, check the specs, verify the versions.
Technical Requirements
At least 18 months in a creative or design agency.
A portfolio with ideas in it. Show us how you got from brief to idea, how you developed a route, and what you personally contributed.
Comfortable enough with Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign to bring your thinking to life. We care more about what you do with the tools than how many you know.
Able to visualise and communicate an idea: scamps, mood boards, treatments, presentation-ready layouts.
Desirable Skills
After Effects or other motion skills.
Practical experience using AI tools in a concepting or production context.
Exposure to any of health and pharma, beauty, or retail and consumer goods.
Experience on film or video briefs, from storyboard through to edit feedback.
The Type of Person for the Role
Ideas first. You look for the thought behind the brief and enjoy developing routes, concepts and creative solutions.
A good eye, and a strong creative instinct. You know when something feels distinctive or unexpected, and you care about typography, composition, image and tone.
Meticulous. You take responsibility for the quality and accuracy of your work.
Collaborative. You enjoy working with strategists, designers, producers and senior creatives to make ideas better.
Confident with critique. You can explain your thinking, listen to challenge and improve the work without getting precious.
Built for pace. You thrive in a deadline-rich, multi-project environment, with strong time management and personal accountability. Fast without being sloppy, and honest when something needs more time.
Curious about the commercial side. You want to understand the client's business, why they need the work and what it needs to achieve.
Ambitious. You want to make work that people notice, remember and want to talk about, and you want to be better in twelve months than you are now.
