Creating a Digital Programming Guide for Save the Children
The Problem
Save the Children International operates across 118 countries, with thousands of staff and resources. Information existed in SharePoint, but the tagging and filing system was cumbersome, making it hard for staff to find and use what they needed.
Consultation with 100 stakeholders revealed the greatest opportunity: embedding digital programming into operations through a clear, accessible guide.
The Idea
We proposed a step-by-step Digital Programming Guide (DPG), a proposal generator to help staff decide whether their project required digital programming.
Our approach:
Conducted UX research across five global regions, addressing varying digital literacy levels
Repurposed existing assets into a user-friendly, interactive prototype
Ran user testing to refine flows and functionality
Developed wireframes, then UI designs, incorporating brand guidelines, accessibility, and usability

A practical Digital Programming Guide that supported staff globally
